About Courage Co-Op

Courage Co-op is a pre-k-8th grade Christian co-op. We offer a mix of core and elective classes. Classes are facilitated by dedicated teachers who bring structure and creativity to each lesson. 2026 Fall Classes

Courage Community Co-Op provides engaging classes for students from Pre-K through 8th grade.

We meet once a week on Mondays. Students in 1st–8th grade participate in a three-period day, while our Pre-K/Kinder class enjoys a two-period schedule. Along with weekly classes, we offer monthly field trips to enrich learning. To help build a strong and connected homeschool community, Courage requires all families to enroll full-time.

Courage Co-op Schedule:

9:45 - 1st period

10:45 - Recess

11:00 - 2nd period

12:30 - 3rd period

PreK - Kindergarten

This will be a combined class for ages 4 and up and will meet during the 1st and 2nd class periods. Language arts and math concepts will be reinforced and explored in new ways through direct instruction and creative activities. Students will grow in their academic knowledge as well as in their ability to be confident and curious learners.

Hands on Literature

Welcome to Hands-on Literature for 1st-3rd graders! Come join us as we be bring to life grade level classic literature. The goal of this class is to read a variety of picture books with engaging comprehension questions then follow-up with hands-on literature activities. Some of the activities include lap books, crafts, recipes/cooking, retelling with puppets, and more fun experiences that fit the overall theme and purpose of a story. The purpose of the activities are to enhance comprehension skills in a fun way that create in kids a passion and love for literature. A specific book list will be shared soon.

Material Fee: $45

Culinary for Kids

In this culinary class for kids, students will learn basic cooking techniques including how to use

kitchen tools, how to read a recipe, and how to keep their area clean all taught in a small

group setting. Students will be able to enjoy a sample of their culinary creation during class.

Recipes may include dairy, grain, nuts, eggs, meat, and spices. All supplies and ingredients

included. Recipes are subject to adjustment.

Human Body

Let’s bring the fascinating, intricate and wonderfully-made human body to life! In this semester class, students will get hands-on engagement with the human body systems, major organs and will get to explore all the silly, wild and crazy facts about each of their bodies. Students will be gently led through each lesson using carefully selected books, presentation slides or hands-on demonstrations. The fascinating discovery will continue with hands-on experiments, crafts, activities, culminating with the construction of their own body from the ground, up!

American Artists

This semester, we will be focusing on American artists, learning their art styles

and try our hand at their famous mediums. Students will learn different materials,

techniques and how to care for the materials. Materials may include clay, oil

pastels, watercolor, charcoal, acrylic and chalk pastels.

Idaho History

Idaho History (Grades 3-5) Dive into the rich history of Idaho with this fun and interactive class. Students will explore the fascinating stories of Idaho's past through hands-on activities, games, and creative projects. This engaging class combines history with creativity, teamwork, and problem solving to make learning about Idaho's past an unforgettable experience!

Material Fee: $50

Graphic Design

This hands-on Graphic Arts class introduces students to the core principles of digital design and essential creative tools. Students will begin by learning color theory, file types, layout, and typography, then gain practical experience using Canva for real-world design projects. The course also includes an overview of Microsoft Word, Excel (with key formulas), and PowerPoint to build foundational productivity skills. In the final unit, students will be introduced to Affinity software to learn step-by-step photo editing and design techniques, with opportunities for guided and student-choice projects.

Note: Canva Pro is required ($15/month; approximately $45 total). Siblings may share an account if working in separate projects.

Advanced Literature

Welcome to Reading Classic Literature for 6th-8th graders! The goal of this class is to read a variety of classic chapter books that will lead into the incorporation of meaningful discourse discussions and comprehension activities to enhance reading experience. A lot of reading will be expected to be done at home so that there is time to do activities in class. At the end of each book, students will be expected to complete a book project in the form of their choice to allow for creativity and individual preference. The purpose of the activities and projects are to refine comprehension skills, aide in students ability to discuss themes and topics in books, and enhance their presentation skills. Stay tuned for a list of books.

Government

In this class we will learn about the US Government. Beginning with the Constitution, which lays out the framework for our government and all our rights as citizens, we will explore the three separate branches of government, elections, and our civic duties. Using a hands-on approach, we will see how a bill becomes a law, how elections work, and how we influence what happens in Washington DC.
